2023 Suzuki Vitara Hybrid video

Video Road Report

We video review the 2023 Suzuki Vitara Hybrid JLX AWD.

Suzuki’s Vitara SUV is championing the brand’s sustainable future goals with the introduction of hybrid powertrains across the entire Vitara range. Vitara is well accepted as the ground-breaking small and chic SUV which has been with us since 1988. Over time, it has grown from a three-door, fun lifestyle vehicle, to a larger, more family-oriented 5-door, V6 powered recreational stalwart and then back to an environmentally considerate and practically sized ‘everyday’ SUV with four-wheel-drive ability and contemporary styling.

Today, Suzuki has evolved the Vitara yet again, retaining the successful styling – though adding some new touches to maintain the contemporary appeal, technological advances – including an upgraded infotainment system with inbuilt satellite navigation as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system – and, ensuring a 5-star ANCAP safety rating is retained across the range, increased safety features. These features include an advanced forward detection system, dual sensor brake support, reversing camera, weave assist, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, blind spot monitoring, and driver-controlled lane keep assist for the first time in Vitara. Hill descent control and parking sensors are features of the all-wheel-drive models.

Suzuki’s intuitive AllGrip AWD function features four different drive modes: Auto, Snow, Sport and Lock, all of which are driver selectable, depending on surface conditions.  Under its signature clamshell bonnet, the all-new Vitara hybrid uses a more efficient 1.4-litre turbo petrol BoosterJet engine with the advantages of an advanced 48-volt hybrid system, which doesn’t require plugging in – just drive the SUV and let the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) hybrid system do its thing.

The All-new Vitara Hybrid delivers on the promise of power and performance with an eye on environmental awareness and fuel efficiency, at a price that’s almost too little to pay…
