New V6 Amarok

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is taking things up a notch: the Amarok is getting the latest generation of Volkswagen V6 engine, with the top-of-the-line 3-litre engine delivering 550Nm of torque and 165 kW.

The powerful top-of-the-line six-cylinder engine produces its maximum torque at only 1,500 rpm. At 550Nm, this maximum torque is also 130Nm higher than in the previous model.

The Amarok’s driving performance and handling is improved further with a Servotronic steering system now available, and new 17-inch brake discs on the front and 16-inch discs at the rear. The Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, which has won multiple awards, is also included as standard.

In conjunction with the new engine the Amarok makes is underscored by a more athletic-looking front end and an all-new dashboard. Together with new ergonomic seats, they lend the vehicle a more sophisticated and valuable appearance.

The Amarok Aventura – a launch model – will be available for a limited time only, featuring 20 inch alloy wheels, rear-view camera, bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED licence plate lighting and LED-illuminated side sills under the doors.

Pricing and specification for New Zealand will be released over the coming months and Volkswagen NZ are expecting to have this updated Amarok in showrooms from the end of the year.
