Nissan New Zealand has announced its award-winning Leaf electric car is now available to purchase from only $39,990, down from its previous retail price of $69,700.
The exceptional retail offer is designed not only to broaden the appeal of the innovative Leaf EV (Electric Vehicle) but to capture the attention of buyers who might have previously been put off by the comparatively higher purchase price typically associated with electric vehicles.
The Nissan Leaf’s new price offer will see it compete directly with similarly-sized petrol powered vehicles on a total cost of ownership basis.
With more than 100,000 sales, Nissan Leaf, the 2011 World Car of the Year, is the best-selling electric car to date.

The Leaf has been awarded a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and is backed with a full factory three-year 100,000km vehicle warranty and a five-year battery warranty.
Along with the new pricing Nissan New Zealand is also expanding the number of Nissan dealerships qualified to sell and service Nissan Leaf.
