Satnav for Suzuki Swift Sport

Vehicle Fitout

The Suzuki Swift Sport has taken another advance with the addition of satellite navigation.

Already acclaimed as one of the top compact hot hatchbacks in its class, the latest five-door Swift Sport 1600 now boasts extra desirability with this equipment upgrade.

“We are delighted the integrated Garmin satellite navigation is fitted to both the six-speed manual and continuously variable (CVT) automatic transmission version of the Swift Sport without any increase in retail price,” said Gary Collins, general manager of automobile marketing for Suzuki New Zealand.

The upgraded Swift Sport is priced at $27,500 and the CVT version $28,990.

The touch screen satellite navigation and infotainment system has two-dimensional and three-dimensional maps, hands-free calling, address book copying (with supported phones), connections to iPod or other USB audio devices, plus CD and SD card playing.

Also standard is a quality AM/FM audio system with six speakers.  A reversing camera can be added as an accessory which displays through the satellite navigation system.

Suzuki has designed the satellite navigation screen and controls into the centre of the dashboard where it is easy to read and operate. The system is very user friendly utilising clear, large icons.

The three-spoke red stitched soft leather steering wheel has volume and phone controls that help make the infotainment system feel totally integrated into the car.

New Zealand car buyers have taken to the Sport version of the Swift with enthusiasm. In the first seven months of this year the CVT version of the Sport was the second most popular variant of the Swift range.

Both the manual and automatic transmission Sports are brisk sellers, helping maintain the Swift range as the most popular new car to private buyers in the local market and third overall best-selling new model.

The Sport’s 100kW variable valve double overhead camshaft 1,586cc engine produces a healthy 160Nm of torque, and the car also comes as standard with 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels, cruise control, climate air conditioning, sports front seats and stainless steel pedals.
