Speedy Signs is still in the fast lane

What were you doing 25 years ago?

Speedy Signs founders Grant and Sarah Archibald can remember quite clearly – they were about to launch their new sign business. With a background in accounting, sales, and marketing, Grant and Sarah felt the time was right to become self-employed and in doing so enjoy all the benefits that would provide.

The journey began after a visit to the USA where Grant investigated trends in various franchised industries and on his return to New Zealand the potential for these for the domestic market.

After deciding the sign industry offered the most opportunity, they came up with a name for their new venture that included both what the business produced (signs) along with a point of difference to the industry standard (improved speed of delivery). They and their six-month old baby then moved to Auckland, the largest potential market, in order to open their pilot store.

Like all good entrepreneurs they spent time mastering the ins and outs of running their business; understanding the market, connecting with key suppliers, and refining systems with a focus on creating the best customer service and quality.  And so, in 1998 the Speedy Signs brand was born.

Vehicle graphics specialists
Roll forward the years and the Speedy Signs network has grown to a whopping 27 locations from Whangarei to Invercargill, and the business has seen a huge growth in the vehicle graphics category.

With the advances in technology and printing capabilities, it has become faster, easier and more affordable for businesses and individuals to customise and brand their vehicles with high-quality graphics. Vehicle graphics can serve many purposes, such as advertising, identification, and decoration. Speedy Signs has been applying graphics to cars and vans, trucks, buses, and even boats!

While Martini Racing graphics on an RS3 will attract a different kind of attention, if your business vehicle doesn’t stand out, your brand is invisible to thousands of commuters and their passengers. That’s a horribly missed opportunity to increase your brand’s visibility and business.

Your vehicle is an incredibly cost-effective tool to advertise your brand 24/7, everywhere you go, even when you’re parked or stuck in traffic.

Here are Speedy Signs’ top four reasons to invest in vehicle signage:
• Promote your brand 24/7. Branded vehicles boost brand visibility 15 x more than most advertising media.
• Boost your credibility. Vehicle signage has the added benefit of helping boost your brand reputation; you will appear professional and invested in your business.
• Reach a wider audience. When you invest in vehicle signage, your advertising is on the road for years, putting your business in front of new customers every day as you and your staff travel.
• Cost effective marketing spend. Vehicle signage is a relatively low-cost investment that can provide long-term returns. You only need to pay for the initial design and installation, and your vehicle signage will continue to work for you for years.

Don’t ignore the opportunity to increase your brand’s visibility on the road. Add vehicle signage to your marketing strategy, and increase the chances of customers connecting with your brand.

Grow your business faster
Speedy Signs’ slogan is “Grow Your Business Faster”. As a company they aren’t there just to sell signs, they’re here to partner with their customers to help them build a strong visual presence and grow their own business. This often begins with a consultation with the customer to find out what they’re trying to achieve, and suggesting ways to best achieve this.

After 25 years of trading in a crowded market where many competitors have gone by the wayside, it’s no surprise that Speedy Signs continues to help tens of thousands of businesses with their vehicle branding needs.
