Tesla opens NZ Design studio for Model Y SUV

EV

The Tesla Model Y is an all-electric, mid-sized SUV, which comes with two drive options – rear wheel and a dual motor all-wheel drive.

Initial deliveries – scheduled for August – November 2022 – will be for the rear-wheel drive model with its starting price of $76,200. This model sports 455 km of WLTP range, plenty of storage space and a medical-grade HEPA filter.

Tesla’s Model Y is something of a safety hero for the brand. It’s low centre of gravity, rigid body structure and large crumple zones provide high levels of occupant protection.

Inside, Model Y’s panoramic glass roof and high seating creates a feeling of spaciousness and offers an expansive view from every seat in the vehicle. Tesla’s signature single 15-inch touchscreen provides the occupant interface for all of the car’s controls.

The front trunk and split-folding second-row seats provide a total of 2,158 litres of storage space.

As you might expect, the Tesla Model Y connects to your smartphone for seamless entry and exit, and with the Tesla Mobile app for unique, easy-to-access features like remote unlock, remote pre-conditioning, location tracking and Speed Limit Mode as some of its highlights.

Model Y is also compatible with the current Supercharger network of 59 Superchargers at 13 locations across New Zealand, including the V3 Superchargers which can charge at rates up to 1,600 km per hour.
