In our latest video Damien O’Carroll takes a look at the Mitsubishi Outlander LS and weighs up its suitability not only as a company car, but also as a lifestyle vehicle.
The “dynamic shield” nose that was introduced at the recent facelift and brings the Outlander into line with the Triton and the rest of the Mitsubishi family is still the biggest styling point of the entry level LS and Mitsubishi says more than 100 engineering and design changes were made to the popular SUV.
They include improvements to structural rigidity, a redesigned suspension, a new electric power steering system, a noise-isolating windscreen, better sound isolation and a retuned CVT transmission for improved acceleration.
While the LS is an entry level model, it isn’t exactly left wanting in terms of standard equipment, as it comes standard with seven airbags, a 6.1-inch touch screen, Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio streaming, a reversing camera and reversing sensors, 16-inch alloys wheel, LED daytime running lights, keyless start, roof rails a multi-function steering wheel with satellite controls for the cruise control and hands-free phone system, as well as shift paddles.
The LS Damien drives in this video is a powered by Mitsubishi’s 126kW/224Nm 2.4L MIVEC petrol engine that delivers fuel economy of just 7.2l/100km, despite the power also being sent through all four wheels.
The Mitsubishi Outlander LS is economical and versatile and also comes with Mitsubishi’s impressive and unique 10 year Diamond Advantage warranty. For more information including latest pricing, go to www.mmnz.co.nz/outlander
