What you should fit for a fit fleet

Vehicle Fitout

There appears to be something of a sea change in the world of commercial vehicle fit-out, an industry which many might see as slow to change.

This is not actually the case, as fit-out suppliers are constantly seeking new products which enhance the businesses of their diverse customer bases and we’ll come back to that in a moment.

The sea change mentioned earlier is affecting the industry in a good way, according to Jackson Enterprises, and – given the company’s 37 years’ experience in the industry, providing respected fit-out, mobility and seating solutions – any and all changes are readily apparent, even if they are not so to their customers.

“What we are seeing,” explains Sarah Wallis of Jackson Enterprises, “is more discernment on the part of our customers.

“In the past, vehicle fit-out has revolved around finding a robust solution that is cost effective. While this is still valid, we are now seeing customers looking to present their vehicles professionally and as such, they are more selective when it comes to fit-out, looking for the accessories which complement the quality of their vehicles.”

This, Sarah says, is particularly prevalent with trades vehicles. Fleet vehicle customers are still largely focussed on competitive pricing, but even they are requesting improved quality items which improve the cosmetic appeal of their vehicles.

Noting this, Jackson Enterprises is right on the cusp of being able to answer the needs of these and indeed, all other customers.

This is where we come back to the changing nature of the fit-out industry.

While Jackson Enterprises has an already enviable (and not unjustified) reputation for providing robust, comfortable and durable aftermarket seating for example, the company is constantly looking for products to enhance that reputation.

“We’re expanding our offer in excellent seating options while we continue to promote and supply New Zealand designed and manufactured van seats,” explains Sarah. “These will complement our own seating ranges and give our customers more options.”

Similarly, Jackson Enterprises have alternatives for shelving systems too. While some may find the tried and true plastic shelving bins better suited to their requirements, some might prefer the more contemporary metal offerings.

Personal preference is not the only reason for increasing the product lines available through Jackson Enterprises, however.

The vehicles that are coming into the market are constantly changing and this means companies like Jackson Enterprises must keep ahead of international design trends and builds as well as local regulations governing the fit-out of those new vehicles.

This last is an area most of us don’t think about, but reputable fit-out firms have to know all the ins and outs of. Interestingly, our local regulations differ from those of say Europe, so what is an easy task to do a fit-out there, is not necessarily so easy here.

So, if nothing else, if you are thinking about having your next vehicle fitted-out to conform with legal requirements, optimum storage potential and quality materials designed to look good and stand whatever a trades or passenger service can dish out, then finding and engaging a respected fit-out partner should be your next step.
