Ford’s commercial e-revolution has started

Ford’s all-new E-Transit Custom made its global debut recently at the IAA Transportation Show 2022 in Hannover, Germany.
The van delivers highly competitive performance for a wide range of customer needs and a maximum towing capacity of 2,500 kg3 is available on Transit Custom for the first time.

Ford has also developed next-generation battery technology to enable a targeted range of 380 km and 124kW fast charging ability.

The all-new Transit Custom will be available as a panel van and double-cab-in-van and features an extensive range of new innovations to enhance productivity.

Key to this is the extended range of four size variants L1 or L2 lengths with H1 or H2 roof heights.

Customers can also choose an all-new Plug-In Hybrid version for applications where additional flexibility is required.

The PHEV offers pure-electric driving capability for city centre work, as well as petrol power for extended highway trips. The new powertrain combines a 2.5L Atkinson cycle petrol engine with a 11.8 kWh (usable) battery and is similar to that used by the Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid.

“The all-new Transit Custom will offer a new level of technology and flexibility for business customers, with all the practicality and versatility Transit is known for,” said Andrew Birkic, President and CEO, Ford Australia and New Zealand.

Ford also confirmed further details about the all-new Transit Custom, which offers the latest generation of Ford EcoBlue diesel engines.

In addition, a high-efficiency eight-speed automatic gearbox is introduced.

Customer deliveries of Transit Custom with EcoBlue powertrains are set to begin in late-2023 with additional variants available in 2024.
