New MG4 variant set to redefine MG brand

News

Probably best known for its SUV’s MG New Zealand has recently announced an addition to its range which will redefine the brand.

Joining the up and coming fully electric MG4 range, the brand’s 51kWh Excite model will be the first new EV in the country to have a sub-$40,000 post Clean Car rebate price.

The new MG4 51KWh Excite will have a presale price from July 1 of $46,990 which, after application of the $7,015 rebate, effectively reduces the transaction price to $39,975 (plus on-road costs).

Arek Zywot, Country Manager for MG New Zealand comments, “We are incredibly proud to be able to offer the most affordable new fully electric vehicle to Kiwis who want to adopt zero-emission motoring.

“MG has been leading the charge with attainable electric vehicles since the launch of the local award-winning ZS EV and, with the debut of the dynamic new MG4 and the sub-$40,000 post rebate 51KWh model, we maintain our leadership position in this space.”

The first examples of the new MG4 range are expected in MG dealerships around the country from late Q3.

Presale pricing from July 1 for the new range is as follows, meaning all models qualify for the full Clean Car rebate amount of $7,015.

MG4 51KWh Excite: $46,990
MG4 64KWh Excite: $51,990
MG4 64KWh Essence: $54,990
MG4 77KWh Essence: $63,990

NB: All prices are plus on-road costs

Further information about the new model range will be released closer to launch.
