All-New Ford Transit Courier Arrives to Enhance Kiwi Business Productivity

News

New Zealand businesses are set to gain a new, highly capable partner later this year with the arrival of the all-new Ford Transit Courier. Engineered to deliver enhanced productivity, advanced connectivity, and segment-leading safety, the compact van is poised to make a significant impact on the commercial vehicle market, with the first units scheduled to arrive in Q4.

The Transit Courier has been strategically designed to maximise utility for operators. It combines the agility of a compact vehicle with the functionality of a much larger van, a sentiment echoed by Paul Heagerty, Ford Transit marketing manager for Ford New Zealand. "The all-new Transit Courier delivers the capability of a larger van while keeping the footprint compact," Heagerty stated. "It’s smart both inside and out and will be an ace in the hand for NZ businesses".

At the heart of its design is a focus on productivity. The Transit Courier DCiV (Dual-Cab-in-Van) model features a versatile 5-seat configuration. An innovative “fold and tumble” rear seat system allows for a dramatic expansion of the rear load space, offering businesses exceptional flexibility for carrying both crew and cargo. The van's space-efficient, squared-off form and short overhangs contribute to an impressive load capacity, while its bold, SUV-inspired exterior styling provides a desirable and eye-catching mobile billboard for any business.

Under the bonnet, the Transit Courier is powered by a 92kW variant of Ford’s efficient 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine. This powertrain has been specifically optimised to reduce CO2 emissions and improve fuel efficiency, addressing key operational costs for businesses. Paired with a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the van is well-suited for stop-start city traffic. The transmission’s design ensures smooth, rapid gearshifts without any loss of torque, enhancing both the driving experience and low-speed efficiency.

Safety is a cornerstone of the new model, which has become the first van to receive a Platinum 5-Star safety award from Euro NCAP under its latest, more stringent testing protocols . This top-tier rating for commercial vehicles signifies a new benchmark for safety in the segment. The award-winning suite of advanced driver assistance systems includes a Lane-Keeping System, Intelligent Speed Assist, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, Reverse Brake Assist, and rear parking sensors, providing comprehensive protection for drivers.

The all-new Ford Transit Courier is available to order from local Ford dealers now. The Transit Courier DCiV model has a Recommended Retail Price of $49,990 (GST inclusive), plus on-road costs, with first arrivals expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
