Beyond the Showroom: Ford New Zealand Drives 'Servitization' Strategy with New 5-Year Care and Pre-Paid Service Plans

  • Standard Roadside Assistance extended from three to five years upfront for all new vehicles purchased from 1 June 2026
  • New Pre-Paid Service Plans introduced for MY2026.5 Ford Ranger and Ford Everest, locking in scheduled services at a launch price of $499 each
  • The initiatives form part of Ford’s broader ‘Servitization’ strategy, integrating predictable maintenance, a 5-year warranty and vehicle personalisation

Ford New Zealand has launched a comprehensive new customer care package designed to offer Kiwi drivers unmatched predictability, convenience and cost assurance throughout their ownership journey.

Headlining this initiative is the extension of Ford’s standard Roadside Assistance program from three to five years upfront for every new vehicle purchased from 1 June 2026, alongside the introduction of highly anticipated Pre-Paid Service Plans for the MY2026.5 Ford Ranger and Ford Everest.

This service evolution seamlessly integrates with Ford’s existing five-year warranty and extensive Ford Genuine and Licensed accessory portfolio. By combining predictable maintenance, long-term roadside support, manufacturer-backed warranty protection, and the ability to personalise vehicles for any lifestyle, Ford is delivering an integrated ownership experience built on flexibility and absolute confidence.

"At Ford, we are a customer-obsessed brand, which means we think far beyond the initial sale; our focus is on the entire journey our customers take with us," said Annaliese Atina, Managing Director, Ford New Zealand. "We want to take the stress and unpredictability out of ownership so customers can focus on what matters most - whether that’s running a business, getting the kids safely to school, or heading off for a weekend getaway. Aligning our long-term support services is how we deliver on that commitment, ensuring Kiwi drivers have total peace of mind every single day."

Locked-in Value: Pre-Paid Service Plans

With the new Pre-Paid Service Plans, customers purchasing a new MY2026.5 Ranger or Everest can lock in their scheduled servicing costs upfront. The program allows owners to secure up to four scheduled services for a launch price of just $499 each, providing complete cost assurance for up to five years or 60,000 kilometres (whichever comes first).

Complementing this, the extension of Ford’s standard Roadside Assistance coverage to five years, effective for all new Ford vehicles purchased from 1 June 2026, ensures that help is always just a phone call away, no matter where Kiwi drivers find themselves.

"Our goal is to meet our customers exactly where they are, providing seamless, worry-free support at every stage of their journey," said Nina Elson, Director, Ford New Zealand Customer Service Division.

"The introduction of Pre-Paid Service Plans and extended Roadside Assistance represents a critical step forward in our 'Servitization' strategy. By wrapping these offerings around our existing five-year warranty and extensive accessories portfolio, we are creating a fully integrated, customer-first ecosystem," added Elson.

Personalised and Fully Supported: Genuine Ford Accessories (GFA) and Ford Licensed Accessories (FLA)

Recognising that no two drivers are the same, Ford’s ecosystem pairs vehicle personalisation with over a century of trusted local expertise.

Ford’s extensive Genuine Ford Accessories (GFA) and Ford Licensed Accessory (FLA) portfolio allows Ford owners to tailor their vehicles to match their exact lifestyle, fully backed by comprehensive warranty benefits when fitted through Ford’s national dealer network.

GFA products are official, Ford-branded parts designed and manufactured directly by Ford for a seamless factory-fit, backed by Ford’s accessory warranty.

FLA products are high-quality, third-party products (such as ARB) that are officially vetted by Ford for safety and compatibility; they offer a broader selection of specialised lifestyle and off-road gear.

When fitted to a new vehicle by an authorised dealer prior to delivery, both GFA and FLA products offer total peace of mind with a 5-year/150,000 km warranty (Ranger and Transit) or a 5-year/unlimited km warranty (passenger vehicles). If fitted after purchase, they are covered by the remainder of a customer’s New Vehicle Warranty or a 12-month/20,000 km parts warranty (whichever is longer).

The Ford Service Difference

  • Factory-Trained Technicians: Specialist technicians—including many who have spent their careers mastering the Ford brand—using the latest diagnostic equipment and genuine Ford parts.
  • Express Servicing: A standard service completed within 90 minutes while you enjoy a coffee in one of our guest experience lounges (at participating dealerships).
  • Loan Car Program: Late-model loan vehicle available to book ahead of scheduled service to keep customers moving.
  • Electronic Vehicle Report Card: A transparent, digitial assessment of the vehicle's health provided delivered directly to the customer’s device during every service.

The extended five-year Roadside Assistance is active for all new Ford vehicles purchased from 1 June 2026. The new Pre-Paid Service Plans are available for MY2026.5 Ranger and Everest at participating Ford dealerships across New Zealand starting Monday, 8 June 2026.
