We video test the Mitsubishi ASX VRX petrol
In our latest video report, Damien O’Carroll spends some time in the newly refreshed Mitsubishi ASX - the stop-spec 2WD petrol VRX model - and finds it has a whole lot of new equipment to go with its sharp price.
Mitsubishi has given the venerable ASX a bump in spec for the new model year, with the VRX now getting new 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, leather-faced seats with front seat heaters, keyless entry and start and a panoramic roof as standard features.
Still included as standard kit in the VRX are the rain-sensing wipers, 6-inch touch screen audio display with reversing camera, automatic air conditioning, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity with satellite controls on the steering wheel, along with paddle shifters.
The ASX is powered by Mitsubishi’s familiar 2.0-litre MIVEC four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 112kW of power and 200Nm of torque, while it also boasts one of the best warranties in the business with Mitsubishi’s Diamond Advantage warranty that covers the powertrain for 10 years or 160,000km, the entire vehicle for 5 years or 130,000km and also offers 5 years roadside assist!
The rest of the ASX range has also come in for a refresh, with increased standard equipment across the range, as well as a new 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine for the 4WD model.
All of this comes with a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and seven airbags to keep everyone safe, as well as comfortable. For more information including latest pricing, go to www.mmnz.co.nz/ASX.
