New SUV Test Video - 2020 Ford Everest

Video Road Report

We video test the 2020 Ford Everest Titanium

The Ford Everest Titanium won the 2019 Executive Car of the Year award from NZ Company Vehicle due to the luxury appointments, practicality, functionality and capability.

The Everest is something of an unsung hero for Ford, and we expect it’s going to fall into the category of being one of those vehicles owners will not give up easily – largely because it is kind of hard to find something that does everything the Everest does so well and so comfortably.

We are after all, looking at a luxury seven-seater for under $100,000 and that is a proper seven-seater mind, not one of these “lets put some ironing boards in because we forgot the rearmost seat” types. In fact, the rearmost seats are so good, they’ll likely be the seats fought over by regular passengers, and they fold down electrically at the push of a button, which increases the already useful amount of luggage space when all seven seats are in use.

The Ford Everest has everything needed to be a genuine vacationer, but it also has a massive amount of road presence for the Daily Grind. Despite this, it is surprisingly agile, with a beautifully balanced engine and transmission combination which makes gearshifts from the 10 speed automatic almost imperceptible and the response from the 2-litre twin (bi-Turbo) turbo diesel fast and efficient, giving rise to the Everest’s excellent fuel economy of 7 litres per 100km on a combined cycle.

You get luxury, practicality, functionality and capability all packaged up in the Everest which also benefits from the Ford Ranger’s strong underpinnings.

The Ford Everest range has recently expanded to include the Sport model, but for the money, we’d go Titanium all the way.
