Lexus New Zealand has closed out 2025 with another record-breaking year, delivering 1,453 vehicles, its strongest annual result to date, and affirming its position as New Zealand’s second-largest luxury automotive brand.
The milestone comes in a challenging market and reflects steady, considered growth driven by customer demand across the Lexus range, continued investment in the ownership experience, and a clear brand direction grounded in design excellence, innovation and future-focused mobility.
Lexus New Zealand Vice President Andrew Davis says the result is ultimately a reflection of the people who choose Lexus and the teams who support them every day.
“This has been another milestone year for Lexus in New Zealand. Achieving another annual record in a tough market speaks to the trust our customers place in the brand and confirms that we are continuing to make luxury cars that kiwis enjoy. It is also a testament to the commitment of our Lexus teams who deliver the purchase and ownership experience with care, consistency and pride”.
“Our growth has been deliberate, guided by a focus on delivering thoughtful, refined experiences that genuinely add value for our customers.”
In 2025, Lexus opened new and refurbished dealerships in East Auckland, Wellington, and Newmarket Auckland, extending the Lexus experience and personalised omotenashi hospitality to more customers nationwide. These new spaces reflect Lexus’ ongoing investment in environments designed to feel calm, welcoming and distinctly human, supported by sales and service teams dedicated to delivering exceptional care at every stage of ownership.
The brand also continued to disrupt the luxury market through its growing electrified offering, with the NX and RX models available in plug-in hybrid electrified variants, responding to increased demand for efficiency while retaining the refinement, performance and design Lexus is known for.
That future is already arriving in New Zealand with the all-new Lexus RZ, which has just landed in the country and is currently on display at the ASB Classic, and introduces some of the most advanced technology ever offered by the brand locally. The all-new RZ is the first Lexus to feature yoke steering with steer-by-wire technology, delivering smoother control, improved visibility and a more engaging driving experience.
Globally, Lexus signalled a new era at the Japan Mobility Show (JMS), unveiling a lineup of future concepts under the brand’s new theme, Discover. Spanning land, sea and air, the concepts showcased Lexus’ evolving approach to mobility, performance and lifestyle.
Separately, Lexus recently unveiled the Lexus LFA, offering a glimpse into the future of high-performance Lexus in an electrified era. The concept points to a future BEV sports car designed to exceed expectations, combining electrification with the tactile purity driving enthusiasts demand while keeping the spirit of the original LFA alive.
Born from the conviction of Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda, known as Master Driver Morizo, that essential car-making skills must be preserved and passed on, the LFA Concept has been developed alongside TOYOTA GAZOO Racing. Like the original LFA, it embodies the Shikinen Sengu philosophy, evolving the craft of performance car making for a new generation.
“The Japan Mobility Show was a fantastic showcase for Lexus and our future,” says Andrew Davis. “Discover is about building experiences that feel considered and fit naturally into modern life. The recent LFA Concept shows that even as electrification and performance evolve, the craft and emotion of driving still matters to customers.”
Beyond vehicles, Lexus continued to support creativity through the Lexus Design Award, which expanded into Wellington for the first time in 2025. The programme partnered with Victoria University and Massey University of Wellington, joining longstanding partners AUT and the University of Auckland. Four new mentors from fashion and product design, including Kowtow and ACME, joined ambassadors Simon James and Scott Bridgens of Resident.
Looking ahead, Lexus will continue to build on its momentum with the arrival of the new generation ES, which will become the first Lexus in New Zealand to feature connected car services, allowing seamless digital integration, remote functions and improved customer support.
“Whether it’s through design, technology or service, our focus remains the same,” says Andrew Davis. “We want owning a Lexus to feel easy and considered, from the day you drive it out of the showroom till the time you are ready to make the shift into your Lexus, we want to make sure we look after you.”
That approach is reflected in Lexus Service Protect, which supports customers with ongoing care beyond the point of purchase. Eligible owners receive a one-year or 15,000 km warranty each time their vehicle is serviced at an authorised Lexus dealership, helping protect long-term value and making ownership simpler over time.
As Lexus heads into 2026, the brand is preparing to reveal next-generation technologies, continuing its evolution as one of the most progressive names in the luxury market.
“We’re entering the next chapter with confidence,” says Andrew Davis. “This year has laid the foundation for what’s coming next, and we’re excited to continue growing with our customers.”
