LDV launch 2 new LCV models in NZ

New models

In a significant move to strengthen its presence in the New Zealand LCV market, LDV has unveiled two new vehicles (well  one new and one improved) designed specifically for hard-working Kiwis – the updated T60 Max Plus ute and the Deliver 7  van. Both vehicles come backed by an industry-leading seven-year warranty package that includes roadside assistance and  Warrant of Fitness inspections, demonstrating LDV’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

The T60 Max Plus emerges as a compelling option in the competitive ute segment, featuring a robust 2.0L variable geometry turbocharged diesel engine that produces an impressive 160kW of power. Matched with an eightspeed automatic  transmission, the vehicle offers versatile performance characteristics suited to both urban and off-road environments. With a  three-ton towing capacity and a 73-litre fuel tank, it’s clearly engineered for serious work.

Interior comfort and technology take center stage in the T60 Max Plus, with a prominent 12.3-inch HD screen supporting  wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The cabin benefits from electric, heated, and adjustable seats, though  notably lacks telescopic steering adjustment. However, its 360-degree panoramic camera system enhances the vehicle’s  practicality in tight spaces and on sites.

During initial testing around Auckland’s roads, the T60 Max Plus impressed with its refined cabin noise levels and substantial road presence. The steering delivers excellent weight and feedback, although the suspension errs on the firmer side. The powertrain combination proved responsive, with the eight-speed transmission delivering smooth shifts.

The Deliver 7 van, meanwhile, targets New Zealand’s commercial sector with impressive versatility. Available in both short  and long wheelbase configurations, offering 6.3 and 7.2 cubic metres of cargo space respectively, the van can accommodate  euro-size pallets – a crucial feature for business operators.

Practical features abound in the Deliver 7, including 270-degree barn doors, optional dual sliding doors, and standard non-slip rubber flooring with LED cargo lighting. The driver’s environment hasn’t been overlooked either, featuring an eight-way  adjustable seat with lumbar support and a sophisticated 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

On-road testing revealed the Deliver 7’s impressive handling characteristics, with well-weighted steering and composed road manners even when unladen. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration promises better cornering predictability and load-bearing capabilities.

While both vehicles showcase significant improvements in technology and refinement, it’s worth noting that some modern features like auto start/stop, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring are absent from the specification list.

Pricing for these new models starts at $55,990 for the T60 Max Plus and $53,990 for the Deliver 7, positioning them  competitively in their respective segments.

The launch of these vehicles reinforces LDV’s commitment to the New Zealand market, with the brand stressing its alignment with Kiwi values of honesty, loyalty, and transparency. The comprehensive warranty package further underscores LDV’s  confidence in its products and dedication to the local market.
