New BAIC X55 Premium Hybrid

New models

Following the recent release of the new X55 Elite Hybrid, BAIC has announced details of the new top-of-the-range X55 Premium Hybrid that has now also arrived at dealers across the nation. The introduction of the BAIC X55 Premium Hybrid now means there is a range topping Hybrid to accompany the already well specified Elite Hybrid.

In addition to bold styling, premium features and strong performance courtesy of the advanced hybrid powertrain, the new model introduces a suite of attractive and desirable features for a nominal increase in price over the attractively priced Elite Hybrid.

“The new X55 Premium Hybrid launch offer means that it is currently available from only $42,990+ ORC’s which is only $3,000 above the already attractively priced Elite variant at $39,990+ ORC’s. The X55 premium hybrid offers even more comfort and additional features that will appeal to customers who desire even more creature comforts in their new vehicle,” said Shiguang Guo, General Manager BAIC New Zealand.

“For that extra $3,000 over the Elite Hybrid the Premium variant offers a panoramic sunroof, roof rack, power tailgate, sensor tailgate, driver’s seat memory, front seat heating and ventilation, as well as rear seat angle adjustment. This comprehensive additional value package will no doubt appeal to customers who are less price sensitive and looking for a little extra.”

All of these additional features add to the liveability and lifestyle focus of the new Premium Hybrid, delivering an improved all-round aesthetic, enhanced functionality and an even more stylish cabin environment.

The panoramic sunroof contributes to a light filled cabin which makes it feel even more spacious, while the driver and front passenger seats can be cooled in summer and heated in winter.

The serenity of the interior is complemented by the silky smooth and seamless operation of the hybrid powerplant, the 1.5-litre engine delivering peak performance outputs of 160kW of power and 310Nm of torque and contributing to an impressively low fuel consumption figure of 5.8-litres per 100km.

The new model’s RE-HEV technology allows the battery to power the motors at low and medium speeds while energy recovery recharges the battery during coasting. At higher speeds, the engine drives the generator to power the motor and recharge the battery. This technology enables strong acceleration from a standstill and a responsive and quiet driving experience.

Safety features included as standard include driver assistance support capabilities such as Emergency Brake Assist, ABS + EBD, Hill Assist and Descent Control plus Electronic Stability Program functions.

Both Hybrid models offer a 12.3-inch central control screen and 10.25-inch LCD instrument screen as well as a starship-style central console and dashboard with smart digital display. Keyless entry and remote start are further features available on all BAIC X55 models available for sale in New Zealand, as is a comprehensive seven-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.

The new X55 Premium Hybrid is on sale now at all 14 BAIC dealerships around the country and is available from $42,990+ORC’s with the Elite Hybrid available from $39,990+ORC’s as part of the X55 Hybrid range launch offer.
