The automotive event of 2022 - you don't want to miss it

General

Save this date – Wednesday July 20, 2022. You’re going to Hamilton.

Well, Claudelands actually, which means for all you Auckland-based fleet managers, you’ll be travelling on the 19th to stay overnight because EROAD Fleet Day 2022 – the largest automotive commercial event of the year – opens its doors at 8.30am.

And with that start time, you should be able to deduce that this is not a typical automotive show. It is geared specifically to those who work in the automotive industry, rather than being a public event.

In short, Fleet managers, this one’s for you!

The Waikato has been the ancestral home for this event for over a decade with significant involvement from the Waikato Regional Council – an organisation which champions sustainability through transport initiatives.

About four years ago, the WRC – no, not the rally one, the council one – determined that while it wanted to continue to run the event, it fell too far from the Council’s core operations and fleet solutions provider EROAD, took up overall logistics of Fleet Day.

“Waikato Regional Council is still a very important part of the event,” explains EROAD’s Enterprise business development manager Matt Buckle, “and we’re delighted to be working with them.”

The EROAD Fleet Day will have a strong ‘look, touch feel’ element with 25 light vehicles on display joined by 20 heavy commercials. This suggests the breadth of industry EROAD Fleet Day is catering to.

“If you use or manage a fleet of vehicles, you really should attend this event,” says Matt Buckle.

It’s not all about the vehicles, however. EROAD is looking to make EROAD Fleet Day an event to remember and is combining information with enthusiasm for the automotive industry.

Matt Fontein, marketing manager for EROAD says the event has attracted 17 confirmed speakers to address a diverse range of considerations facing fleet managers in the 21st century.

“At the same time, we want event attendees to reconnect with the reasons they work with vehicles,” says Fontein. “Which is why we have Steve McIvor from Sky Sport and Mad Mike Whiddett as our emcees.

“For ‘automotive candy’ we have – among other things – a Lamborghini GT3 car and at the other end of the spectrum, an electric Fuso truck and an electric Volvo truck.”

EROAD Fleet Day will focus on challenges and solutions facing fleet managers today, including sustainability issues, road safety considerations and EV trends and technologies.

Tickets are available from now at $199 which admits three people from one organisation – equal to $66 each – as EROAD is looking to engage as many attendees as possible.

EROAD’s commitment to the event is clear: “We’re looking forward to providing event goers with the tools and knowledge needed to improve their operations,” says Fontein.

With that in mind, you should visit the fleetday.co.nz website for ticket purchasing information and further details; but circle that date – July 20th on your calendar right now.
