Dealer news- Poised for further fleet growth

General

Located on the former Kirk Motors site at 500 Broadway Newmarket, Andrew Simms Mitsubishi was created in 2007, and since then the business has continued to grow with an increasing number of vehicle brands and models.
In 2009 the Andrew Simms European division was created with the acquisition of the Fiat, Fiat Professional, Citroen and Alfa-Romeo agencies, and since then Great Wall and Chery joined the growing list of marques available at the dealership in 2011.
Newly-appointed dealer principal Matthew Wales says that Andrew Simms has the distinction of being the number one top selling dealer in New Zealand for all of the brands mentioned above.
On May 1, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep will also be retailed from the landmark showroom located on the corner of Broadway and St Marks Road. It’s been more than 30 years since the Chrysler brand has graced the showroom floor in this building and the return has seen the creation of new opportunities for staff and customers alike.
Service and parts has always played a key role in the success of Andrew Simms Mitsubishi and the company was given a Diamond Dealer Award in 2012 by distributor Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand in recognition of all-round excellence.
From May 1, the service department for Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles will be found at 500 Broadway, Newmarket, where the entrance ramp is located at St Marks Road.
From the same date, the service department for Alfa-Romeo, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Chery and Great Wall vehicles will be located at 425 Broadway, Newmarket.
To further develop business for the dealership, Travis McDonogh has been appointed to focus on growing the fleet sales of Mitsubishi and the other marques at Andrew Simms.
Travis was formerly a business development manager for Mitsubishi Motors NZ and most recently was a business fleet sales specialist for John Andrew, Auckland’s largest Ford and Mazda dealership, so he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Andrew Simms team.
“It was great exposure to the fleet environment from a dealership perspective,” says Travis. “But I’m looking forward to rekindling relationships with past Mitsubishi fleet customers.”
With the recent introduction of the Mirage supermini, Travis says the Mitsubishi range of passenger vehicles such as the Lancer, ASX and Outlander as well as the light commercial L300 Van and Triton pick up, continue to offer fleets a compelling and competitive lineup, especially now with a ten-year warranty offered on all passenger and light commercial vehicles.
Matthew Wales says the addition of Travis and the addition of further marques at the dealership provide greater opportunity to meet the growing needs of fleet customers.
Matthew is also passionate about the prospects of the all-electric plug-in Mitsubishi i-Miev as fleet vehicle for urban based companies and local government fleets.
“We have taken delivery of a large stock of the i-Miev and can now offer companies a leasing package from $799 per month on a 45 or 50 month term,” says Matthew.
“The average daily commute of 50km is easily achieved within the i-Miev’s battery range, and an as office pool car the i-Miev offers an unique and efficient energy saving solution.”
Andrew Simms Mitsubishi can offer a competitive finance and leasing package on any size of vehicle fleet from one to 1,000 vehicles as part of a full turnkey fleet procurement package.
