The use of “next generation” alternative fuels is just one of the commercial and strategic opportunities for New Zealand fleet managers being discussed at the summit. the road ahead for fleets both economically and environmentally?

Companies with established benchmarks or business objectives are always wise to review new innovations – especially when those innovative tactics can benefit the business processes and metrics for increased profitability.

Case studies from organisations with some of the largest fleets such as Fonterra, Downer, GoBus and Linfox will discuss their strategies alongside sector experts from EECA, NZTA, RTF and MoT.

Other items for discussion are fuel and engine developments as well as technologies such as smart-route planning, real time travel information systems, telematics and GPS-based scheduling technology – these avenues are helping fleet operators optimise their business economies.

New Zealand’s Mighty River Power is one company that has committed to converting their passenger fleet with the take-up of electric vehicles.

Matt Lowrie, editor of Transportblog, will facilitate a panel discussion on “developing the fleet electrification opportunity,” and international keynote speaker Ian Wright, CEO of Wrightspeed and co-founder of Tesla Motors, will talk about his attention to electrifying trucks.
