Leapmotor B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid EV

New models

Following the successful introduction of the fully electric B10 SUV BEV in late 2025, Leapmotor has confirmed the New Zealand launch of the new B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid EV in July.

Available in two trim levels, pricing starts from:

  • Leapmotor B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid EV ‘Life’, from $39,990 +ORC
  • Leapmotor B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid EV ‘Design’, from $44,990 +ORC

Leapmotor’s Ultra Hybrid EV architecture reimagines the hybrid concept by placing electric drive at its core and delivering a genuinely 100% electric driving experience. Unlike traditional plug-in hybrids where the engine often contributes to propulsion, the wheels on a Leapmotor B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid are powered solely by the electric motor, with the compact range extender 1.5-litre petrol engine engaging only to produce electricity and recharge the battery when necessary.

The system is defined by three key principles: the electric motor provides 100% Electric Drive to the rear wheels, the range extender is never mechanically connected to the wheels and its function is only to generate electricity during driving.

Thanks to this design, the B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid EV offers a consistently pure electric feel, while ensuring longer journeys are without dependence on frequent charging. Drivers enjoy smooth, silent performance, instant torque and seamless acceleration without gear shifts, with energy management handled automatically, meaning no action required from the driver yet flexibility to navigate through city traffic or New Zealand’s rural roading infrastructure.

Brian Carr, General Manager Leapmotor New Zealand says, “Key to the B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid EV success is Leapmotor’s commitment to delivering cutting edge technology and value.  New Zealand customers benefit from experiencing the pure electric drive feel plus lack of range anxiety with an 18.8kWh battery offering 86 km range (WLTP) and a combined range of 900 km (WLTP).

Flexible Driving with Intelligent Energy Modes

Depending on driving needs or terrain, customers can choose between four energy modes - EV+, EV, Fuel, and Power+ - to optimise efficiency and/or performance, thus enabling the driver to adapt the vehicle’s driving behaviour to the many different road conditions in New Zealand while importantly, preserving its electric-first character.

Advanced Technology and Connectivity

Inside the cabin, drivers enjoy a modern, smartphone-like digital environment powered by LEAP OS 4.0 Plus and the high-performance Qualcomm 8155 chipset. A 14.6 inch 2.5K HD central display provides a seamless interface for connectivity, entertainment, and vehicle controls. The experience is further enhanced by an immersive 12 speaker premium audio system.

An added benefit, and no different to a smartphone, Leapmotor continually provides updates to allow drivers to download the latest software via its Over the Air (OTA) functionality plus, connectivity receives a major boost with native Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, available through both wired and wireless connections, giving users seamless access to their preferred apps on the 14.6-inch infotainment display.

Safety Comes Standard

Safety and assistance systems remain a top priority.  Earlier in 2026, the B10 BEV was awarded a five-star ANCAP safety rating and acknowledgement of having one of the highest equal Child Protection score under ANCAP’s current criteria.

The life presence detection reminder has been optimised, and updates to Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Centering Control (LCC) ensure smoother deceleration when approaching curves, improving overall driving fluidity and safety.

The new B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid EV also features a high strength body structure with enhanced torsional rigidity, seven airbags, and 17 advanced driver assistance functions designed to support drivers across a wide range of scenarios, ensuring confidence and protection on every journey.

Designed for Everyday Kiwi Life

With compact SUV proportions and a spacious interior, the new B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid EV has been engineered to suit growing families and urban lifestyles.

The B10’s key dimensions are 4,530 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width, 1,655 mm in height, and featuring a 2,735 mm wheelbase.

Simplified Range

The new B10 SUV Ultra Hybrid EV offers a two-trim line-up - Life and Design - six exterior colours and three interior themes.

To further support the New Zealand buyer, Leapmotor now comes with a factory backed six-year / 150,000km vehicle warranty (whichever occurs first).
