EROAD – Safer roads, one technology

General

EROAD’s one platform system delivers additional benefits to those expected from a telematics company.

Save on insurance costs

EROAD and NZI Insurance have partnered to reward good driving on our roads. NZI Insurance is waiving the insurance excess for commercial drivers that appear in the top 25 percent of the EROAD Leaderboard.

EROAD’s Leaderboard benchmarks drivers within an organisation, ranking them on frequency of speeding, severity of speeding, number of harsh braking and harsh acceleration incidents. This information is then aggregated and anonymised to provide an industry-wide benchmark.

If your driver is in an incident, and they appear in the top 25 percent of the EROAD Leaderboard, then NZI will waive the insurance excess.

Don’t miss the golden hour

When the unexpected happens, your driver may not be able to call you. Emergency treatment is most likely to be successful the first hour after traumatic injury, which is why it is referred to as ‘the golden hour’.

EROAD's new product, CaRA (Collision and Rollover Alert) is designed to deliver emergency alerts in the event of a serious collision or rollover. If triggered, you’ll know your driver needs help and you’ll also have an auditable trail that supports your legislative requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

The CaRA unit is installed within the vehicle and sends a ‘heartbeat’ as soon as the vehicle is turned on. This heartbeat indicates that CaRA, your vehicle and EROAD’s cloud-based system (called Depot) are working in unison. For those who negotiate the frequent bumps and scrapes synonymous with congested roads, alerts through CaRA are only triggered when a ‘serious collision’ occurs. This has been defined as when a vehicle has been in an incident including a force greater than 4G, or it has rolled or tipped over greater than 60 degrees from horizontal.

Let your drivers know you’re prepared for the unexpected and help meet your legal responsibilities in managing work-related road risks that could cause serious injury.

Safer roads

As well as reducing time spent on compliance reporting, EROAD’s one technology platform is helping transport operators reduce the frequency and seriousness of incidents. Data collated by the company shows that EROAD’s total NZ customer base has reduced their over-speed events by 47 percent. Customers are noticing these reductions both owner-drivers and company-owned vehicles.

The EROAD difference

Health and safety have been at the core of EROAD since the company launched onto the commercial market almost a decade ago with the world’s first nationwide road user charging system. The accuracy and security required of a system originally developed for regulatory compliance, has ensured EROAD’s products and services can be relied on and why government agencies and auditors accept reports generated through the EROAD system.

The internationally prestigious Brake Fleet Safety Award was given to EROAD in acknowledgement of the positive impact the company has in creating safer drivers, vehicles and roads. The products and services EROAD deliver are easy to use, accurate, and reliable. Understandably, there are some who consider EROAD the safer choice for both drivers and business.v
